Anggun C Sasmi (34), singer from Indonesia that have been successful on the international scene, refusing to stop for the scent of his homeland. Not only with apiknya songs, but also through social action.

It is related to the status of Anggun as ambassadors around the UN food agency, FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization).

A series of events had followed the singer dreams. One is a discussion forum that discusses poverty and hunger. The forum was attended by several world leaders. Among others, Bill Gates and British tycoon Richard Branson. Pantene Brand Ambassador for Indonesia and Malaysia were also lined up to be the keynote speaker, and so the Equator Prize award in 2010 which held at the American Museum of Natural History, New York.

Equator Prize is a prestigious award for people who fight for and preserve biodiversity in the world. On that occasion, the mother of one child to get a chance to be stage with supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who is also a keynote speaker; Academy Award-winning actor, Edward Norton, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, as well as mass media magnate Ted Turner.

In addition, the wife of French writer, Cyril of Montana, was interviewed live on television channel owned by Turner, CNN. Anna Coren was the one who interviewed Anggun about programs to combat hunger campaign. When questioned about his involvement in the program, Anggun reply that it is a task for him.

"For me, it is a duty. As a human being and mother, I am compelled to call for it to all people around the world. The number of chronically hungry people around the world reached 925 million people. Every six seconds, a child who died because of lack of ate. For me, it is not acceptable, "said he, as released in the video on YouTube on September 19 last.

According Anggun, many things can be done to combat poverty. Especially, by setting aside funds. "I strongly believe, this world really have enough money to resolve the issue.
